In addition to a wire fence to define and secure a private area, it is also necessary to plan for a wire-mesh gate. This device allows people and/or vehicles to enter or exit.
The wire-mesh gate is an essential complement to the wire fence. It is designed to provide access to the enclosed area. This type of gate can thus be used for:
- a garden;
- a swimming pool;
- a kennel or chicken coop.
The gate is formed by two long vertical posts that support a tubular frame onto which the mesh is fixed. It is equipped with a latch or a handle with a lock for opening/closing. A set of keys completes the ready-to-install kit.
The wire-mesh gate is lightweight, sturdy, and especially easy to install, as the posts are long enough to be driven into the ground. They can also be cut and mounted on a base plate to be fixed to the ground.
The gate is generally a single leaf. The mesh part of the gate may cover the entire frame or only a part of it. The rest will be covered with a solid part.
Wire-mesh gates are generally made of galvanized steel or iron, which guarantees their durability. They are also coated with a primer and paint, or a powder coating in green, black, or white to withstand the weather.
Choosing the ideal model of wire-mesh gate involves considering:
- the dimensions of the opening: the opening or passage of the wire-mesh gate ranges from 85 cm to 125 cm. Those with double leaves go up to 3 m, while the height of the gate ranges from 1 m to 2 m;
- the height of the gate.
The design of the gate should also be in harmony with the style of the fence for an aesthetic appearance of the set.
